As Dublin's only weekly club night dedicated to the sights, sounds and possibly smells of the 1960s, Sassy Sue's GoGo Inevitable has established itself as the musical equivalent of a bagful of Biba on the back seat of Sandie Shaw's Mini.
Launched last July by the Rock And Roll Rescue Squad team and fronted by the Mary Quant-styled DJ Dandelion, the club is a haven for the city's hitherto hidden clutch of fab Chelsea girls and boogaloo beat boys, all of them getting down to a psychedelic soundtrack which ranges from the Stones, Kinks and MC5 to Motown classics, northern soul and the occasional whiff of Gitane French pop grooves from the likes of Serge Gainsbourg and Johnny Hallyday. This Friday sees an appearance by the DJs from Sassy Sue's likeminded peers in Hamburg, the Biff Bang Pow club.
