Keep the nostalgia flowing this Friday
The Guardian - Saturday 15th Septmeber 2007
The options for most middle-aged men experiencing a midlife crisis are usually limited to hair dye, a Harley Davidson and a brief encounter with the secretary, before inevitably returning to the rather more comfortable bosom of the wife and Ford Mondeo. For fading rock'n'roll stars, becoming a club DJ is always a good option for staving off the pipe and slippers and comes with the opportunity to play great music to an adoring audience, just like back in the good old days.
Following recent appearances by Specials frontman Terry Hall and Dexys Midnight Runners' Kevin Rowland, whose Made To Measure compilation of Motown favourites is out this week, this 1960s-influenced weekly invites the man who penned Pretty Vacant, Glen Matlock, for a DJ set to keep the nostalgia flowing this Friday.
