BLACK DIAMOND HEAVIES
Exclusive Live Show

SASSY SUE’S GO-GO INEVITABLE.
THE SUGAR CLUB.

Friday 16th May 2008

PUNK ASSED SOUTHER BULES DUO ARE COMING TO WHUP SASSY SUE'S ASS...

Hailing from Louisville, Kentucky by way of Tennessee – Black Diamond Heavies are John Wesley Myres (Organ Vocals) and Van Campbell (Drums). The sound they make is a whiskey scrubbed Lo-Fi blues. They mix shake a hip blues boogie with a dark soul grind that's sexy, like surviving a bar room brawl. Black Diamond heavies inhabit the same world as Tom Waits and Beck but somehow seem to have been dragged through time to land in the present caked in dark delta mud. Almost too perfectly Myers is the literal son of a (Baptist) preacher man, whereas Campbell descends from a Bourbon-distilling family.

Sassy Sue's Go Go Inevitable is proud to bring you this unique one night only chance to see Black Diamond Heavies, a band in the process of creating their own legend. Support on the night as always comes for DJ Dandelion. This is going to be a heavy night, a special night, be there.

Doors are 11 pm, we advise getting down early if you haven't pre-bought your ticket. Oh, and by the way Sassy Sue is now pouring drinks 'till 3.30 a.m.

Praise for Black Diamond Heavies Debut Album "Every Damn Time":

NME - "(Myres) gargles the thick blues drawl of a man who has never inhaled with out a Marlboro Red in his gob, which is partly why "Every Damn Times" is so damn brilliant. A fabulous debut." 8/10
