The English Masters At Work, Phil Asher is one of the most prolific producers in London,s dancefloor jazz scene. The son of a record shop assistant, young Phil would slip daddy's latest releases into his schoolbag taking them to school to sell to his mates. Nowadays he keeps those records, alighting the world's dance-floors with jazz, latin, disco, funk and cutting-edge house.

On Friday nights, you can catch him at the Notting Hill Arts Club where he and Patrick Forge front one of London,s longest running club nights playing a mixed bag of music that inspires them. He is also a part of the West London brokenbeat scene, co-founding the CO-OP Club, to help promote that sound. If that weren't enough Phlasher is best known for producing stomping vocal and jazzy house as Restless Soul on London's aptly-named Chillifunk Records. Compiling the Jazz In The House 1-10 series for Slip 'n' slide as well as prod! ucing an album for saxophonist Nathan Haines.
