Strictly Handbag is kicking off its 14th Birthday in style with a DJ set from the Republic of Loose at The Sugar Club, Dublin. Can you think of a better way to get any party started than with a night on the town in the company of the legend that is The Loose.

Now we don't what Brez and Ben are going to play, but we do know that whether rocking 30,000 people at the Oxegen festival or in a back room jam, an evening with The Republic of Loose is always going to be memorable.

The Loose join an illustrious list of guests who’ve minded our Handbag over the years: Kevin Rowland (Dexys Midnight Runners), Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols), Dave Haslam (Hacienda) and Will Sergeant (Echo and The Bunnymen). This is the perfect start for the weekend.

The Sugar Club gig marks the beginning of a weekend of festivities for the 14th birthday of Dublin's longest running club night.

Saturday sees the party move on to the seaside where Handbag is in residence in The Loft at The Purty Kitchen, Monkstown.

On Sunday we will congregate at the Village on Wexford St to sing our praises at the city’s original Rock + Roll Karaoke night; Songs of Praise.

The closing show on Monday 27th sees the Irish Debut of GLASVAEGAS doing an exclusive DJ set fresh from their US tour and top 2 album in our new HQ, SPY on South William Street.
