Andy Lewis, London ace face, DJ, musician and modernist scholar. Lewis has haunted the bohemian pop art world of the London underground for over a decade now, strutting the cracked pavements left vacant by the sixties mod movement. Lewis is inspired not only by the Go Go chic of the 1960's, but is also very much in love with the present DAY London metropolis. His albums are an action colour painting of modernist sound and vision.
Andy Lewis is the quintessential English gentleman. That dying breed who mix style and eccentricity with equal aplomb. Originally a groundbreaking DJ on the London soul scene, he was one of the originators of the Britpop explosion (first as the resident at The Laurel Tree, the Camden pub where the scene first surfaced - and later as Blur's DJ). He started his career as a musician with the highly touted art-band Pimlico and graduated to producer and member of indie chart-toppers Spearmint.
He is the man behind the ledgendary Blow Up club and Although it was his DJ'ing exploits that initially brought him to the attention of Acid Jazz records, a selection of songs that he had written earned him the chance to record a track for one of the label's famous Totally Wired series.
